We've been hearing the rumors for some time now. We were let down by no announcement during Photokina and again during PhotoPlus last week, although the latter was a long shot. Now the rumors are getting louder about a big Nikon press conference in December to announce the alleged D3x. Current firmware pegs the D3x at 24.4 Megapixels (thanks for that slip up Nikon!).

I love my D3. It's such an amazing camera. I just recently sold my D300 camera and housing in anticipation of getting a D3x in addition to my trusted D3. I see no need to get rid of the D3, as it is still a great camera and has an incredibly fast burst rate, albeit at a lower resolution than the soon to be released D3x, which apparently is based on a similar chipset as the Sopny Alpha 900.
