Among the impressive list of specs that came with Nikon’s latest DSLR announcement were on the video side: The D780 uses the full sensor width to capture both 4K/30p and up to 1080/120p footage, outputs 10-bit video via HDMI, and offers tools like zebra striping and focus peaking—not to mention its high-speed (UHS-II) dual SD card slots.
The only thing missing to get to work producing awesome underwater video (apart from a housing) was a lookup table (LUT) for use when color grading movie footage shot with N-Log gamma. Now you can download the N-Log 3D LUT for the D780 from Nikon’s website. The download—for macOS and Windows—includes LUT files for Nikon’s mirrorless full-frame Z6 and Z7 as well. According to Nikon, the files work in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Apple Final Cut Pro X and Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 16, but other editing software should also be compatible.
There’s more information on Nikon’s download page.
