Nikon Issues “Service Advisory” for Z9 Camera
By Joe Tepper, December 19, 2022 @ 01:34 PM (EST)

Struggling to switch lenses on your brand-spankin’-new Nikon Z9 mirrorless camera? You’re not alone.

Nikon has issued a “Technical Service Advisory” for the Z9 camera due to a performance issue with the lens release button on some units. According to the company, the button may not allow for full rotation and release of lenses and blames the problem on insufficiency of quality standards.

There’s no word how many individual cameras may have this technical issue. However, Nikon is offering fully paid service (including shipping) for individual units impacted. You can see if your Z9 camera is eligible for repairs by checking the serial number on this dedicated website.

Further concerns or questions should be directed through the Nikon support page.
