This post is meant for the more clandestine underwater photographers—cough James Bond—in the community. Lexar has announced a USB 3.0 flash drive that uses your fingerprints to keep the contents secure.
The JumpDrive Fingerprint F35 holds the biometric security readings (AKA fingerprints) of up to 10 users so that it can be shared between users. The reading of the fingerprint takes less than a second and the drive has a read speed of up to 150MB/s. Unfortunately, while the drive is compatible for storage use with Mac and PC, the fingerprint fanciness only works with Windows systems.
The JumpDrive Fingerprint will soon be available in 32GB ($32.99), 64GB ($49.99), 128GB ($89.00), and 256GB ($169.99). Read more about these accessories from the future on the Lexar website.
