Atomos’ new Ninja V external monitor and video recorder will begin shipping at the end of September. The Ninja V features a slimmer 5.2-inch screen—but packs in many of the same specs and features of larger, 7-inch models.
The Atomos Ninja V records up to 4K/60p footage (10-bit 4:2:2) via HDMI from compatible cameras. Those cameras will include recent (hot) releases such as the Nikon Z7 and Z6, and Canon’s EOS R mirrorless cameras. It is also compatible with the existing Panasonic GH5/GH5S.
Optional expansions can be used to permit the streaming of broadcast quality footage to a network and to wirelessly sync timecodes across multiple devices. The Ninja V has a retail price of $695 and the expansion modules will cost around $199. Read more on the Atomos website.
