Nauticam has unveiled its new housing compatible with the Atomos Ninja TX, Ninja TX GO, and Ninja RAW monitor-recorders. The TX, the top Ninja model, records up to 8K/30p ProRes RAW, while the TX GO and RAW record up to 6K/30p ProRes RAW. Unlike the TX, which offers SDI connectivity, the TX GO and RAW are HDMI-only, and the RAW has no built-in Wi-Fi.

Fully supporting all three models, the NA-Ninja TX housing offers both HDMI and SDI inputs as well as HDMI in/HDMI out, HDMI in/SDI out, and SDI in/SDI out. You can operate the monitors’ touchscreen controls via various buttons and a selector knob. Like Nauticam’s camera housings, the monitor housing boasts rugged aluminum construction and comes as standard with a vacuum check and leak detection system for peace of mind.

The NA-Ninja TX housing is available now from retailers such as Backscatter for $3,200. Backscatter also sells the Ninja RAW, Ninja TX GO, and Ninja TX monitor-recorders themselves.

Atomos Ninja TX, TX GO and RAW

The three models share the same new-generation Atomos platform, but they are aimed at different users. The Ninja RAW is the entry-level model for filmmakers who want professional RAW recording. The Ninja TX GO adds cloud connectivity and wireless workflows for hybrid creators. The Ninja TX is the flagship, adding SDI, AirGlu timecode, and higher-resolution recording for cinema and broadcast productions.

The TX generation incorporates numerous exposure and color analysis tools including:

Ninja RAW

The Ninja RAW is the most affordable way into the new platform. It offers the same 1,500-nit HDR display, AtomOS 12, CFexpress recording, USB-C SSD support, EL Zone, waveform, vectorscope, and touch camera control as the higher-end models. Its primary limitation is the lack of networking features. There is no built-in Wi-Fi, so it cannot participate in camera-to-cloud workflows or wireless streaming. It is HDMI-only no SDI.

Ninja TX GO

The TX GO builds directly on the Ninja RAW by integrating Wi-Fi and networking capabilities. It supports direct uploads to Frame.io, Dropbox, and ATOMOSphere, along with NDI/HX3 streaming for remote monitoring. It remains HDMI-only and records up to 6K ProRes RAW, making it well suited to mirrorless cameras from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and Fujifilm.

Compared with the Ninja RAW, the TX GO adds:

Ninja TX

The Ninja TX is designed for professional cinema and broadcast environments. It includes everything found in the TX GO plus:

• Support for up to 8K ProRes RAW

Nauticam NA-Ninja TX Housing

The Nauticam NA-Ninja TX builds on the strong foundation Nauticam has built with previous Atomos monitor/recorder housings. It can support both HDMI and SDI inputs as well as HDMI in to HDMI out, HDMI in to SDI out (cross conversion) and SDI in to SDI out. The NA-Ninja TX supports both Sony NP-F series, and SmallRig L-Series batteries. A CR-2032 battery powers the internal vacuum check and leak detection system and with the pre installed vacuum valve, the system gives real-time feedback about the watertight integrity of the housing through an easily visible multi-color LED on the top of the housing. Access to the touchscreen controls are handled via a series of buttons and a selector knob beneath the screen of the housing.
