Marelux is now shipping its underwater housing for the recently unveiled Sony a7 Mark V. The fifth iteration of Sony’s entry-level full-framer features the new Bionz XR2 processor and Sony’s first partially-stacked backside-illuminated sensor. The a7 V can shoot bursts up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking using the mechanical shutter (30fps with the electronic shutter) and record 7K-oversampled 4K/60p video with no crop as well as 4K/120p with an APS-C crop.

Marelux’s anodized aluminum alloy housing is designed to make the most of the a7 Mark V’s capabilities. Controls are arranged around the built-in handles, dual locking levers ensure the housing is securely closed, and the camera can be easily inserted and removed via the quick-release baseplate. The housing ships with a vacuum detection and moisture alarm system. The housing is compatible with Marelux’s manual fiber-optic flash trigger.

Retailing for $3,398, the MX-A7V housing can be ordered directly from the Marelux website in a variety of finishes—Black, Silver Gray, Yale Blue, Olive Green, and Burgundy.
