Lexar has announced a new faster series of CFexpress Type B Gold Series memory cards offering read speeds up to 1,900MB/s and write speeds up to 1,500MB/s. The previous versions of the cards—in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB capacities—had maximum read/write speeds up to 1,750MB/s and 1,500MB/s, respectively. New 1TB and 2TB versions have now been added to the series.
According to Lexar, the minimum sustained write speed is 1,300MB/s, meaning they are capable of 8K RAW video recording with no risk of dropping frames. The minimum sustained write speed of the new Gold Series cards is only 300MB/s slower than that of Lexar’s top-of-the-range Diamond Series cards.
The Lexar CFexpress Type B Gold Series memory cards range in price from $200 for the 128GB card to $730 for the 2TB card.
