In our 2016 Rumor Roundup, we noted that a pro-sumer mirrorless camera from Canon was likely around the corner. That rumor gains credence as CanonRumors.com published a pair of leaked images of the upcoming Canon EOS 5M.
Although they may look like sketches, the images are apparently just altered using a Photoshop feature. Regardless, they give a good look at what we can expect from Canon’s latest attempt to revive their mirrorless line and stay relevant in the market.
The design is interesting: It almost represents a more classic SLR design merged with the compactness of a mirrorless camera. In terms of specs, CanonRumors.com has sources saying the EOS 5M will feature a DSLR-esque 24.2MP sensor, built-in electronic viewfinder, and a newly redesigned AF system.
The official announcement is expected before Photokina, possibly on September 15. Check out the original article on CanonRumors.com.
