By DPG Editorial Staff, September 6, 2024 @ 09:00 AM (EST)

The latest edition of Underwater Photography magazine—Issue 140—is now available as a free download.

As always, the issue begins with a nice roundup of industry news and new imaging gear. Highlights include the new Nauticam NA-Z6III housing for the Nikon Z6III, the AOI Quick Release System Mount Bases for DJI Osmo Action 3/4 and Insta360 Ace/Ace Pro, the Ricoh G900 II rugged compact camera, and the Sea&Sea LX-series video lights. Two new books are also covered: Martin Broen’s “Light in the Underworld: Diving the Mexican Cenotes” and Alex Mustard’s “52 Assignments: Underwater Photography.”

In terms of gear reviews, the issue contains a review of the Nauticam Fisheye Conversion Port (FCP-1) by Kevin Palmer, an in-depth look at the Olympus/OM System M.Zuiko 8–25mm ultrawide zoom for Micro Four Thirds by Andrew McLachlan, and a review of the Panasonic Lumix GH7 in the Nauticam NA-GH6 housing by Massimo Franzese. In addition, Alex Tyrell experiments with beautiful bokeh using the classic Meyer Görlitz Trioplan 100mm and a replica Trioplan from Chinese manufacturer TTArtisan.

Rounding things off, Peter Rowlands interviews famed Nat Geo underwater photographer Brian Skerry, Colin Marshall chats to award-winning underwater filmmaker Alex del Olmo, Martin Broen talks about his stunning new book on diving Mexico’s cenotes (see that gorgeous cover), Tony Reed considers the joys of shooting with a compact camera, and Tim Gurney discusses the art of using models in your underrwater images.
