Isotta is shipping its housing for the Sony a1 II—the second iteration of the flagship Alpha 1 full-frame mirrorless camera. The Mark II received a dedicated AI processor (promising greater AF speed and accuracy), an EVF with higher refresh rates (120Hz/240Hz), and improved in-body image stabilization (up to 8.5 stops). Otherwise, the fundamentals of the camera remain unchanged: The 50-megapixel stacked image sensor combined with the BIONZ XR image processor offer 20fps burst shooting (lossless compressed or uncompressed RAW) and 8K/30p full-width video recording.
Built around the B120 port system, Isotta’s housing for the Sony a1 II boasts all of the specs of the company’s latest housings: anodized aluminum construction, integrated adjustable handles, double O-ring seals on buttons and removable parts, Isotta’s signature one-handed open/close, and a built-in moisture detector. The housing comes with two fiber-optic ports as standard, but the trigger is an optional extra. You can also order it with one or two Nikonos N5 or S6 bulkheads if preferred. In addition, there’s an M24 port for attaching recorder/monitors.
The housing is available now from retailers such as Backscatter. U.S. pricing is yet to be confirmed.
