By Joseph Tepper, March 2, 2018 @ 02:46 PM (EST)

Isotta has announced their housing for Panasonic’s much-lauded GH5 mirrorless camera. Aside from the red appearance, this housing is made unique by its standard inclusion of a manual strobe trigger.

The housing’s design emphasizes ergonomics and travel friendliness. The anodized aluminum housing weighs in at just under four pounds (without handles) meaning it can be easily packed into carry-on. Other features include a double o-ring seal, a new moisture indicator light, and an anti-scratch viewing window in back.

The housing is shipping this month with a price tag of approximately $2600. Learn more about Isotta’s housing for the GH5 on the Backscatter product page.

PRESS RELEASE

Castelnuovo del Garda (VR), Italy, March 1st, 2018- ISOTECNIC SRL is pleased to announce the launch of its new Underwater Camera Housing for Panasonic Lumix GH5, 100% crafted and Made in Italy, that promises the highest quality and will offer exceptional performance for Mirrorless photographers underwater.

Isotta Housing for Panasonic Lumix GH5 is a further example of the quality of Isotta’s products: light (1800 grams without handles), easy to carry and highly capable housing backed up by a full set of features that can help shooting great stills and movie footage underwater: it features a Manual Flash Trigger system to be used with the standard optical fiber connections, a fully ergonomic interface, enhanced controls (levers, knobs, etc) and improved functions providing better handling when in water.

The adjustable anodized aluminum housing handles are designed to make easier the handling and directioning of the housing underwater: the back door has a large window anti-scratch glass for a fine camera display and optical viewfinder view and it is entirely detached from the front body to make easier the camera fitting. The housing features the Isotta well-known easy and secure opening/closing of the housing thanks to the upper helicoid that can be operated using only one hand.

Compared to the previous GH4 model, the GH5 housing now features a moisture indicator with visible red LED signal light and an acoustic warning signal. An optional Vacuum system can be added through the M16 X1 hole.

Lens release functionality has been re-engineered and is now even easier to use. The interchangeable port with a bayonet 102mm connection and extensions rings combined allow the use of most of lenses on the market for maximum versatility and performance.
