Inon Releases X-2 Housing For The Panasonic GF1 Micro-Four Thirds Camera And More

non announced several products at the Diving Festival in Tokyo last week including a housing for the Panasonic GF1, base adaptors to add Inon close up lenses and strobes to Panasonic Lumix and the Canon S90 housing, a macro port for the new Canon 100mm IS lens and a video base for the Canon WP-V2 video housing.
The highlight of these releases has got to be the X-2 housing for the Panasonic GF1 Micro-Four Thirds camera. Th housing made from compact corrosion-resistant cast aluminum alloy which allows for a very small housing that can be held with one hand. According the Inon the housing will offer access to almost every control including the pop up flash.
The housing also has fiber optic bulkhead for using external Inon strobes with S-TTl auto exposure control.
Inon plans to support the 45mm macro, 14-45mm, 7-14mm and 8mm fisheye lenses. The housing will also support Inon's unique MRS system using magnet attraction power to control the lens barrel when zooming/focusing so the user can operate these features like they would on land.

Inon also announced a port for the Canon EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. The lens. The port will incorporate the MRS system that uses magnetic attraction to smoothly operate focusing by turning the lens barrel without mechanical gears. Additionally, the port will be compatible with Inon close up lenses.

Another new release by Inon are base adaptors for Panasonic Lumix housings and the Canon S90 housing. The adapter will allow attachment for the INON UCL-330 or UCL-165M67 Close-up Lens on an underwater housing. The base plate is jointed with optional Grip Base D4 with two screws to support Inon strobes. Inon claims that it will be easy to dismount the lens adapter to switch to non-macro shooting simply by loosening two screws on the adapter. The M67 Lens Adapter will support Panasonic LUMIX TZ10, TZ7/TZ5 and ZX3/ZX1 and a separate one will fit the Canon S90 housing.


Lastly, Inon will come out with a base plate for the Canon WP-V2 housing to attach Inon lights.
