Video: Huge Treasure Find Off of Florida Coast
Not a bad day at work for treasure hunters who netted more than $1 million in gold coins and artifacts off the coast of Florida.
Divers discovered the 51 gold coins and 50 feet of gold chains amidst wreckage in just 15 feet of water. The crown jewel of the find isn’t a jewel at all, but rather a single coin called the “Tricentennial Royal,” which was lost en route being delivered to the Spanish King Phillip V more than 300 years ago.
That single coin is worth an estimated $500,000, roughly half of the total find. Best of all (at least from an underwater imaging perspective) the find was captured on video, as seen below.
