Hawaii Bans Scuba Spearfishing
A new, controversial law has banned spearfishing on SCUBA in the waters of west Hawaii.
Supporters of the bill, signed into law this week by Gov. Neil Abercrombie, say that SCUBA spearfishing threatens stocks by targeting larger fish. Opponents fear the law will set a precedent without any scientific findings to back it.
