Today, GoPro announced the latest in their sport camera series- the HD HERO2.
The HERO2 appears to be a significant step-up from the original Hero, released in 2009. The new 11 MP sensor and improved processor will produce twice the image detail as its predecessor and deliver superior low light capabilities, according to the company. The camera also features a retooled wide-angle lens aimed to provide more sharpness to a wider field of vision.
The camera is also much more streamlined when it comes to post-processing and sharing. A mini-HDMI port, composite out, USB, SD card and HERO port provide several options for transferring video. What's more, later this winter GoPro's WiFi BacPac will facilitate live streaming over WiFi.
The HD HERO 2 will retail for $300 and is compatible with existing accessories and mounts. For more information, please visit the GoPro official website.
