Good News for the Bottlenose Dolphin

Researchers commissioned by the Scottish National Heritage (SNH) recently determined that the northern bottlenose dolphin population is stable or increasing.
This particular group of dolphins lives in the North Sea, and they are often spotted in the Moray Firth of Scotland. SNH policy and advice officer Morven Carruthers stated, “this population is considered vulnerable due to being small and isolated from other populations."
Aside from its intrinsic value as a living species, the northern bottlenose dolphins are also valuable to the Scottish tourist industry as many photographers and tourists travel there to view the dolphins.
