Ever want to get a close up shot of a polar bear feeding by the water? But, perhaps you don’t feel like it’s a great idea to get too close? Well, Gates is making such tasks safer with the introduction of their POV CAM system.
The POV CAM is composed of two elements—the UMR20 Recorder and the UCK20 Camera head. As such, the system is specifically designed to produce 4K footage with the Panasonic AG-UMR20 Recorder and AG-UCK20GJ 4K camera. The camera can be remotely controlled at distances of up to 60 feet.
“Gates POV underwater systems have seen extensive use with Natural History productions at BBC Earth, Atlantic Productions and Silverback Films,” says Gates. “It’s a versatile tool for unusual shooting situations.”
The POV CAM is expected to ship in September 2018 (contact Gates for pricing). Check out the press release for more information on the Gates POV CAM.
