Fujifilm Introduces The Finepix Real 3D W3 Camera
By Matt J. Weiss, August 18, 2010 @ 01:24 PM (EST)
Fujifilm announced the release of the Finepix Real 3D W3 camera. This is the successor and update to the W1 3D camera that was released in 2009. If you are wondering why you haven't heard of the W1 camera, it's because it was a total bust. The W1 was widely criticized for being a complicated, poor quality camera with little use unless you had the equally hated Fujifilm 3D digital photo frame.
However, that didn't stop Fujifilm from trying again with the W3. The W3 addresses a lot of the problems with its predecessor by making the menu system much simpler and the body feel much more like a regular camera. The W3 also gets a larger 3.5" LCD screen and can also now shoot video in 720p. It also has a HDMI 1.4 out so you can view your images directly from the camera on a 3D TV.
While the camera has gotten a much needed overhaul on the outside, it still has mainly the same under the hood. It uses the same 3x zoom lens, 10mp CCD sensor and photo processor. I am sure we will hear more on this camera as time passes.
