Exascend has unveiled a new 512GB VPG400-certified CFexpress Type B card called the Nitro CFexpress. Assuming it comes to market, it will be the world’s first CFexpress Type B card with the Video Performance Guarantee Profile 4 (VPG400) rating, which guarantees that the minimum write speed during video recording is at least 400MBps. (Western Digital’s SanDisk Professional PRO-CINEMA CFexpress VPG400 card, announced roughly a year ago, was going to be the first, but it appears not to have made it to market.)
The new Exascend card offers sustained read and write speeds of up to 1,850MBps and up to 1,700MBps, respectively. It is also IP67-certified, which means it’s resistant to water and dust.
The Taiwanese company has not yet provided availability or pricing information.
