Dr. Sylvia Earle Featured in New TIME Book

Oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle is being recognized in a new book by TIME, Firsts: Women Who Are Changing the World. The ocean scientist, otherwise known as “Her Deepness,” will have an entire chapter of the book dedicated to her achievements, but more specifically she is being recognized as the first woman to become chief scientist at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Earle is currently president and chair of Mission Blue, an organization that focuses on protecting and conserving the ocean and its inhabitants around the world.
