Our very own Matt Weiss was recently part of an interesting gallery opening in New York for the 7ELEVEN Gallery, located at 711 Washington Street in Manhattan.
Matt had just returned from a three month DPG assignment to Southeast Asia to cover some of the best diving in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines (stay tuned for the stories beginning next week). Not even one week back in his home time zone, matt was asked to display 7 prints as part of the gallery opening. All of the shots were from his recent trip.

There were two other young artists displaying an eclectic mix of water themed artwork and modern sculptures. 7ELEVEN Gallery is dedicated to showcasing the work of young and emerging New York City based artists. The gallery aims to feature works that both reflect and refract the contemporary culture of life in NYC. The gallery states that "exhibitions will feature a broad range of contemporary art: painting, sculpture, film/video, music, performance, mixed-media, and conceptual installation."

We are very proud of Matt, the work he has been doing for DivePhotoGuide and the progression of his underwater photography. Expect to see a lot more from him on DPG!
