News
Readers, meet the new DPG. New DPG, meet our readers.
Over the last few months, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a redesigned DivePhotoGuide—one where a clean, modern aesthetic promotes the power of underwater imaging.
The idea behind the design is that browsing the pages of DPG is meant to provoke the feeling of being in physical gallery of underwater images. A place to honor this unique form of art.
You'll also noticed we rebranded. It's been 4 years since our last logo change, and this new look is meant to reflect our approach towards diversifiying content beyond only wildlife photography. While traditional dive photography will always be our core, we're determined to showcase other areas of underwater photography as well, including surf, fashion, free diving, and everything else.
In addition to the change in appearance, there are some new features designed to improve user experience and feature the amazing pictures of our contributors. All new articles feature a lightbox image display, allowing users to click to enlarge the stunning photographs. You can also scroll through any article’s images in the lightbox slideshow.
Readers will also benefit from a redesigned gallery section, which features larger image sizes and slideshow format. So whether you’re sharing the latest shots from your dive vacation or admiring the work of your favorite pros, our galleries are bigger and better than ever.
Readers who do not have an account are now able to comment and engage with the rest of the community through a Facebook comment section. We still encourage all readers to create an account to receive our weekly “Dome RePort” email, enter our monthly contests and so much more.
We’ve put in a lot of time to make DPG your ultimate one-stop destination for all things underwater photography, and think that the redesign only enhances reader experience. However, since there are many changes, there are also likely to be some minor bugs and glitches to fix. That’s why we are asking our readers to help improve the site: Make sure to notify us of any bugs on the site with an email to Contact@DivePhotoGuide.com.
As always, there’s great content: Comprehensive techniques, travel articles, a calendar of all underwater imaging events, and a thorough equipment section. We strive to provide our readership with the very best underwater imaging content, and that hasn’t changed despite DPG’s makeover. It’s a new look, with the same great content you’ve come to depend on.
