At the October New York Underwater Photographic Society (NYUPS) meeting, members of a recent DPG expedition to the Galapagos will be sharing photos and stories of an amazing two-week adventure. Among the presenters, DPG editors Matt Weiss and Joseph Tepper will tell us how many underwater photo subjects they crossed off their lists- schooling hammerheads, “friendly” silky sharks, marine iguanas, whale sharks, cormorants and even penguins!
DPG leads a trip to the Galapagos every year- and for good reason. The diversity and quantity of subjects in these remote waters are virtually unmatched anywhere else in the world, or in the words of DPG’s well-traveled Matt Weiss, “It’s the best diving I’ve ever done.”

And while we all might be stuck in NYC for now, hopefully the October presentation will help us escape even for just a few hours. DPG will be leading another expedition to the Galapagos in 2012, due to the same high demand that sold out this year’s trip within the same week it was announced.
