DPG Contributor’s Wreck Images Make Headlines

Frequent DPG contributor Brandi Mueller is making headlines around the Internet with her images of forgotten WW2 plane wrecks.

The series of incredible photographs catalogues more than 100 planes dumped into the waters of the Marshall Islands at the conclusion of WW2. Although the wrecks were not shot out of the sky, some landed vertically in the sand and have stayed that way for more than 70 years.

“For me, diving on airplanes, especially World War Two airplanes is really unique. Diving on shipwrecks seems normal; you expect ships to have sunk,” Brandi told the UK Daily Mail

“But seeing planes underwater is strange; planes don’t belong in the water, they belong in the sky, so it feels weird to dive on them. But amazing and special too. And because these planes didn't sink because of the war they are special,” she added.
