DPG Announces Winner of Equinox Housing
By Lia Barrett, September 5, 2014 @ 06:00 AM (EST)

Our final monthly contest, “Nudibranchs,” was a showdown of talent, as DPG readers contributed an exceptional bunch of beautiful imagery. In the end, it was DPG contest veteran Roland Bach who stole the favor of the judges. His wide-angle macro image of a Hypselodoris picta and sunburst wowed the panel, bringing a breath of fresh air and ambiance to an otherwise tightly shot subject. Roland will receive the coveted prize, a DSLR housing from the fine people at Equinox!

In for second place honors is Raffaele Livornese for his use of creative reflection.

Finally, rounding out the contest is Iyad Suleyman's beautiful use of foreshortening, depth of field, and perspective.

Congratulations to all of the winners, and many thanks to all who entered. This month's contest was truly a display of talent and inspiration, and it was a total pleasure for the judges to review the entries. We would like to send out a special thank you to Equinox for their most generous prize—it made our final monthly photo contest exceptionally memorable!

Finally, we would like to thank all of the DPG readers who have submitted over the years. We have had a terrific five-year contest run, and are grateful to you all for sharing your beloved images (check out our contest retrospective, Part 1 and Part 2).

In place of the monthly photo contests, we will be highlighting new features, including Photo Lab and articles from our newest section, The Guide. So stay tuned for new and exciting content coming your way!
