DivePhotoGuide Unveils Website Overhaul!
By Jason Heller, October 30, 2007 @ 02:00 AM (EST)
After months of anticipation, we are incredibly proud to announce and unveil to the world, The New DivePhotoGuide.com!
Since 2005 DivePhotoGuide has provided unique resources for underwater photographers & videographers of all levels from around the world. The new website is designed to be rich in content and to provide a platform for participation - in a very unque way.
Please login and join the conversation, start by adding your comments and feedback about our new site right here at the bottom of the page. We look forward to seeing you articipate and enjoy the new DPG!
For our "oldtimers", ere are a few points on what's new:
What's New? What to Expect?
Simply put - expect an exponential upgrade in the experience of DivePhotoGuide.com. We have even changed our tagline to go along with our new improved website. DivePhotoGuide "The Underwater Photography & Video Portal".
A Bold New Look
First you'll notice our slick new interface and design. The new site is developed to be both deep in content and easy to navigate related content and features. Articles, breaking news and reviews will all have their own sections, with tags connecting related content from the last 2 years - that's over 4,000 related news items and articles!
Community Participation, With a Twist
One of the newest elements is a platform for member participation. When logging into the new site for the first time, you will be prompted to select a username (better do that quickly to get the one you want). You can then set up an uw photo/video profile, and you'll be able to 'join the conversation' by commenting on and discussing any article, news item, review, photo gallery or competition with other interested members of the community. These are not forums or discussion boards - rather, what we like to call participatory news, a special community feature that we will be developing further over the course of the next few months. We hope to see you actively participating!
DivePhotoGuide members never fail to surprise us with their spectacular images. So to compliment our world class Professional Galleries, we are launching Member Galleries to feature some of the top amateur photographers as well.
Again, we look forward to continuing to serve the community and very much look forward to your participation!
- Jason, Wendy & The entire DPG team!
