The dive industry is mourning the passing of Lee Selisky, a pioneer known as the “lead king” for his innovations in custom dive weight solutions. Selisky passed away on July 18, 2018.
Selisky’s dedication to improving the dive industry through his company “Sea Pearls” extended to his tenure as a president and board member of the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA). He is notable for his early support for the use of nitrox (enriched air) gas in the recreational dive industry and one of the world’s largest collections of dive helmets.
“Lee Selisky devoted his life to diving,” DAN CEO Bill Ziefle said in a statement. “His thoughtful counsel helped guide the dive industry for more than four decades.”
