The second annual Dive into the Pink Auction opened on Monday, October 1 and runs till Friday, October 6.
Like the hugely successful inaugural online auction last year, this year’s auction gives bidders a chance to get their hands on some awesome underwater photo gear and dive trips while supporting Dive into the Pink’s efforts to raise funds for breast cancer research and patient support.
Earlier this year, Dive into the Pink partnered with DPG to create the first Think Pink Photo Competition, which raised over $2500 for the charity.
About Dive into the Pink
Dive into the Pink, Inc was started in 2015 by Allison Vitsky, a breast cancer survivor, veteran scuba diver, and underwater photographer, who wanted to raise money to fight cancer in an unconventional way: by mobilizing the scuba community through dive charters and scuba-related activities.
In 2017, 100% of our proceeds will be split between the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), an international organization dedicated to the critical issues of young women with breast cancer, and the Guise Laboratory at Indiana University. For the former, our money is earmarked for support programs, and for the latter, we will be directly supporting a scientific study that evaluates whether certain characteristics of the bone marrow microenvironment can alter/promote the spread of cancer (breast and other types) to the bone.
Dive into the Pink is a salary-free, low-administrative cost 501c3 organization.
