After the announcement of the UN World Oceans Day Photo Competition winners, you might be wondering which imaging contest you should be entering next. The answer is surely Deep Visions Underwater Photography Awards, which returns after a hiatus in 2020.
The competition, which is organized by the Scubashooters network, has eight categories: Portfolio, Macro DSLR/Mirrorless, Wide Angle DSLR/Mirrorless, Macro Compact Camera, Wide Angle Compact Camera, Blackwater, Sharks and Cetaceans, and Conservation. On the competition jury, you’ll find some well-known names in underwater imaging: David Salvatori, Marco Colombo, Jerome Kim, Eduardo Acevedo, Filippo Borghi, Jose Luis Sandoval, and Ellen Cuylaerts. There’s also an impressive $60K prize pool—considering the difficult times that the pandemic has inflicted on the dive industry—with well-known sponsors participating, from Ikelite and Isotta to Atlantis Resort and Crystal Blue Resort.
Deep Visions 2021 is accepting entries till the end of the month, and submission fees start from €10 for a single entry. Head over to the competition website for more details.
