As part of its reorganization of certain parts of its business, Cisco has announced that the Flip video camera will be discontinued. The popular Flip, a small HD video recorder, was not meeting expectations. But in light of its small size and housings available, hopefully it will be picked up by another company which may be able to focus more on the Flip.

Canon announced an update to the EOS Movie Plug-In E1 for Final Cut. Among the improvements is the ability to import footage without having to mirror the file structure on the camera, a big plus if you use a reader or other method that does not mimic the file structure when getting files off cards. The download will be available April 25, 2011
