Researchers from Spain captured video footage of octopus cannibalism in the wild for the first time. Divers recorded the common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) using a camcorder in Ría de Vigo, Spain on three seperate instances. The divers’ encounters with octopus cannibalism included one in which the smaller prey was able to escape and two others in which the prey were already dead and the tips of their arms eaten off.

A colossal squid that was recently found in Antarctica’s Ross Sea underwent an autopsy at the New Zealand Museum on Tuesday. LiveScience captured the autopsy on video and live-streamed it. The squid was one of two found.
