Aquatica today announced the release of an extension ring with a focusing knob, in one unit, for the Canon EF-16-35mm f/2.8L II and EF 17-40mm f/4, two popular lenses for Canon shooters. While, as Aquatica notes, an extension ring is normally not big news, this extension ring includes a knob to adjust focus and is designed to retract to make the installation and removal of lenses easier.

Eco Divers has announced that Scubazoo will be managing the North Sulawesi Digital Photo Centre .  It is cool to see the services and equipment that they offer. Something of particular appeal to us underwater photogrpahers and videographer types knowing that cameras, such as a D200 with a Nexus housing, and computers are available for rental and use is appealing in this day of trying to minimize things to carry.

Canon released a firmware update today for the Canon 5D Mark II. This release is a bug fix and does not add additional features as in some of the earlier updates which added some nice features, including some good upgrades to the video side of the camera.

Aquatica today announced the AN-5 Housing for the Sony NEX-5 camera. Photographers looking for a portable, light weight housing look to have a nice option - the AN-5 comes in at 6.5" x 5.5" x 3.3" and 2.2lbs. The price tag is also (fairly) light for a aluminum housing of the quality that Aquatica delivers.
