Olympus sources had confirmed weeks ago, at the PhotoPlus Expo, that they had plans for a metal housing for the new E-3 DSLR in the midst. During DEMA this became even more evident with the emergence of a Nexus E-3 housing, and rumors of a partnership between Nexus and Olympus

The DPG / Wetpixel booth became somewhat of a home base for underwater imagery folks to stop by and spend time among our own. Pete Symes from X-Ray Mag brought me over to the Poseidon booth, where they had on display their new CIS-Lunar Mk VI rebreather. I'm glad he did, this is a cool toy that I may just need to have for myself

I must say, Seacam gets the award for most innovative imagery products at DEMA 2007. Focused on the professional and high end amateur shooters, Seacam introduced a fantastic pole-cam package, complete with an electronic eyepiece adapter that feeds into a remote monitor and/or monitor glasses

Subal is starting to pick up a little more steam in the US, after a long run as a popular housing brand among underwater photographers in Europe. Subal is focusing first on the new Canons, with the new Nikon housings to follow soon thereafter, sometime early next year

ULCS was proudly displaying their 2" buoyancy arms, along side the regular arms, clamps and accessories that round out our underwater imagery gear bags. I've yet to try the 2" arms, but I plan on buying a complete set soon

DivePhotoGuide will be providing complete coverage of the 2007 DEMA Show in Orlando, Florida. We'll report on the new products, people and players that make DEMA what it is. So today's coverage is just an intro, but we wanted to begin immersing you in the DEMA vibe and keep you up to date on the show "as it happens". The show floor is hard to get through on the first day, as we bump into old friends and colleagues, many who we have not seen since the last DEMA show.
