Take a look around Aquarius reef base, the last existing undersea base in the world. Located in Key West Florida, Aquarius is home to aquanauts during their extended stays underwater when doing research and exploration. Now without NOAA funding, Aquarius might shut down and cease operations forever.

Alvin, the United States’ deep-sea diving submarine has been undergoing changes this year in order to increase its diving depth. It will be able to dive as deep as 21,325 feet after successfully completing tests, a full 6,565 feet deeper than before.
