The entrance to the “Blue Hole,” an underwater cave in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, has been blocked by a grate and inaccessible since 1976 when two students died trying to explore it. Since their tragic deaths, the cave has remained undisturbed by any humans. That was until last Friday when the grate was removed to allow divers from the ADM Exploration Foundation to explore the cave and map its interior.
