On the heels of NAB, Canon has announced the development of a 35mm prime lens for its cinema range.
It's designed to work with video cameras that have up to full frame 35mm sensors. While the full set of specs have yet to be released, it will have a number of features specific for shooting movies.
The lens will join Canon's current line up of EF mount cinema prime lenses, which includes a 14mm, 24mm, 50mm, 85mm and 135mm. These lenses are designed for Canon's series of professional level digital cinematography cameras that include both the EOS C500 4k Cinema Camera and EOS-1D 4k DSLR Cinema camera.
