Canon has added iOS compatibility for its Digital Photo Professional RAW software. This support comes in the form of the DPP Express app for Apple’s iPad—meaning you can quickly download, edit, and convert Canon .CR3 RAW files to JPEG wirelessly through a shared network.

You can even use the Camera Connect app to control the camera remotely via an iOS device. However, this isn’t of use for underwater photography. Instead, what’s important is the ability to make universal changes to RAW photos (tone curves, levels, lens correction, etc.) on your tablet. This could significantly reduce the time spent importing your photos from camera to computer and then sharing through social media.

The DPP Express app is now available in the iOS App Store.
