This year’s San Diego Undersea Film Exhibition (SDUFEX) is now accepting submissions. Underwater filmmakers can submit their entries into two categories—up to 5 or 10 minutes duration—with a maximum of two submissions per person. For an entry to qualify, at least 50% of the film must be shot underwater.
The organizers are hopeful that it will be possible to hold a physical event at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall in San Diego on October 8th and 9th. Otherwise, a virtual event, like last year, has been scheduled for October 15th–24th.

PRESS RELEASE
The San Diego Undersea Film Exhibition (SDUFEX) is now accepting entries for its 2021 film festival.
SDUFEX is the largest film festival in the world dedicated solely to underwater films. In 2020 our virtual festival had over 20,000 views from attendees in over 50 countries.
No Entry Fees are required for submission but at least 50% of each film's footage must be shot underwater. A distinguished panel of independent judges will review each film.
There are two submission categories, consisting of either a 5 or a 10-minute time limit and a maximum of two films (total) per filmmaker may be submitted.
All films must be submitted through FilmFreeway by June 15, 2021.
The online version of the 2021 San Diego Undersea Film Exhibition is scheduled for October 15–24. If possible, SDUFEX also hopes to host an in person festival on October 8th and 9th at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall in San Diego.
Additional information on SDUFEX is available at: https://www.sdufex.com
