Entering its third year, the contest aims to highlight the best nature photography and conservation photojournalism documenting critical conservation issues. To this point, this year features a category of great interest for underwater photographers: A photo essay focused on the beauty and protection of coral reef systems.
In addition, there’s an entire category dedicated to wildlife. But as underwater photographers take a wide array of images, we feel compelled to highlight other categories such as “Landscapes, Waterscapes & Flora,” “Art of Nature,” and “Human/Nature.”
The judging team is led by Award-winning wildlife photographer Suzi Eszterhas, alongside photo editors from the likes of BBC Wildlife and National Geographic. Friend of DPG, and famed underwater shooter, Brian Skerry, also joins the panel.
At stake is your claim of $12,000 in prizes and the opportunity to have your images featured at the Academy of Sciences in a special BigPicture photography exhibit. Entries are being accepted through March 31, 2016.
