Behind the Mask is back with another new video, “Jo in the Blue,” which invites the viewer to discover Socorro—and its dolphins, hammerheads, schools of jacks, and mantas—from the perspective of one special diver. Socorro is a small volcanic island in the Revillagigedo Islands, more than 350 miles off Mexico’s west coast, known for its breathtaking pelagic encounters. Beautifully shot—as you’d expect from the talented BTM team—the film perfectly captures the feelings of peace, joy and liberation that diving brings.
In the text accompanying the video, the BTM team says: “[U]nder the wing of the giant manta, there is a diver hidden that means just a tad bit more to us. This is the story of one diver’s chase of ocean beauty, from the comfort of his own two wheels.”
