If you’re anything like me, you may (on occasion) forget to enter keywords into your images to make searching for them later a lot easier.
Adobe is testing out a new feature that may make the keyword obsolete. It’s called subject-identifying search and it organizes images by subject through the use of a an automatic logarithm. Then, you simply type in the subject in the search bar, and Adobe Creative Cloud delivers all of the images containing that subject.
For now the technology is limited to simple searches such as “flowers” or “food.” But hopefully one day we can search for “sharks,” “nudibranchs,” and maybe even “pygmy seahorse.” We can hope…
As a side note, this new feature is available for trial through Adobe’s Technology Previews for Lightroom. Included in the most recent Lightroom Creative Cloud update, this allows users to test out new features before they are officially released. Learn more, here.
