2015 Digital Shootout Coverage
By Joseph Tepper, July 9, 2015 @ 08:07 PM (EST)

What would your ultimate underwater photography week consist of? Probably it might have world-class tropical diving, imaging seminars to improve your skills, a photo competition, and access to test out the latest gear. Well, the annual Digital Shootout is all this—and then some.

Last month, dozens of divers descended upon Roatan for the 2015 Digital Shootout. Our equipment partners, Backscatter, were on hand to document all the awesome adventures and antics of the week. Oh, and of course they got to test out the hottest gear of the year. The following are just some of the gear tested, but for a full list make sure to check out the Digital Shootout “gear test” page:

  • Olympus Tough TG-4
  • Panasonic Lumix LX100
  • Sony A7/A7S
  • Canon 5DS/R
  • Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk II
  • Panasonic Lumix GH4
  • Nikon D810

Participants upped their skills through informative workshops and seminars, culminating at the end of the week with an imaging contest. Karin Laurel took home the top prize and a sweet trip to Lembeh Resort for her profile image of a shrimp. Dozens of other awesome prizes from the likes of Subal, Nauticam, Olympus, Light and Motion, and Ikelite were doled out to winners. Full results of the competition can be viewed here.

Sound like a blast and bummed you missed it? Reserve your spot for next year’s event at the Little Cayman Beach Resort.
