September 2013 Photo Contest

After a very competitive batch of September "Fish Portrait" entries, the DPG judging panel chose Doris Vierkötter's compelling image of a lizard fish eating a damsel fish.  This two for one fish portrait was captured thanks to the lizard fish's inability to move due to paralysis from consuming a tasty meal.

Doris is the lucky winner of a Canon G15 housing (a $720 value!), courtesy of the great people of Fantasea.
Second place goes to Sergi Garcia for his engaging image of an eel at a cleaning station.
And finally, our third place winner for September goes to Matt Krumins for his up close and personal shot of one of Australia's beautiful leafy sea dragons.
Thank you so much to all of the winners for your beautiful work, and to all who entered this month's contest. And a special thanks to Fantasea for providing top quality and much appreciated prizes!  Be sure to enter your "Big Animal" shots for our October contest for a chance to win other fantastic prizes from Fantasea!

And as always, the DPG team is very appreciative to all of the judges: Matt Weiss, Joseph Tepper, Lia Barrett, Keri Wilk, Jeff De Guzman, Steve De Neef, Tobias Friedrich and Mark Fuller who had a particularly tough job this month in deciding the winners.
