I completely agree with what you write about Bali and diving there. It's phantastic, specially because of the local dive guides who really know their dive grounds. I often wished I had similarly good guides at other places around the globe.
Next time you go to Bali make sure you try some more of the local food. Try a gado gado from Wayan Sudarmini. It's just a small stall in Lipah (just east of Amed) and you'll probably have to ask around to find here but it's well worth it, she makes the best.
Another favorite for me are the delicious little sate sticks with peanut sauce that you get half a dozen of on nearly every market for half a dollar or so. I had particularly good ones when I just stopped by in Singharaja on my way from Amed to Menjangan.
