Biography of Underwater Photographer Steve De Neef

Steve specializes in underwater, nature and conservation photography, workshops and stories on these topics. Born in Belgium, it didn’t take Steve long to start travelling and experience the beauty our planet has to offer. His love for the oceans and seas soon led him underwater and ever since he has been fascinated with sharing the beauty our blue planet has to offer. Photography soon became part of all the travel and is now a passion on its own. Light, color and composition play a very important role in all of his images above and below the surface. Currently Steve is residing in the Philippines photographing this beautiful country while sharing his knowledge of photography and nature through his images, workshops and writings.

Thanks for the kind words Kandace. The seahorse shot did take a long time. This one here is just slow shutter speed and turning the camera, still using flash to freeze the foreground.

A very compact and ergonomic housing. The hugycheck system is great and gives you that extra peace of mind. The controls are easy to use with one hand. Shooting wide angle with one hand is very easy as well. With the domeport on the housing tends to tip upwards a little but noting major. Quality of the domeport is not excellent but considering the price you can't complain. They do make adaptors so you can use other brands ports.
Overal a very durable and good housing.

My first DSLR and love it. I use it all the time above and underwater and with a good lens this body can produce images as good or better as any other camera in it's range. Maybe the high iso settings are not as good as some newer models but still and amazing camera.
