I was certified to dive in 1984 at San Carlos Beach in Monterey, California. 23 years later I am sitting at a desk that looks out on the beach I was certified at when I was a teen. I spent 15 years jumping out of helicopters into forest fires, working on hand crews and back country law enforcement for the US Forest Service

Then one day I was in Monterey and saw some technical dive gear and a spark was ignited. I signed up for an advanced Nitrox class and started my progression which would eventually lead to Mixed gas Closed Circuit Rebreathers and eventually underwater photo & video.

My passion is filming on deep wrecks and inside caves, my favorite place to shoot is at home in Monterey. We have offshore pinnacles that are easily accessible with Dive X scooters and can be reached from shore. Most of the offshore pinnacles are deeper and rarely visited, the scooters allow me to move from site to site easily and quickly when filming. I am most happy in the water and dive on a weekly basis.

Some of my recent projects include filming the Andrea Doria and a section of the ship never before visited for the 50th anniversary PBS special “Secrets of the Dead, Sinking of the Andrea Doria” and “Freshwater Seas, Wrecks of the Great Lakes” for Detroit Television. I have also worked with the BBC,CBC and CBS on films shot on location here in Monterey Bay. I have some cool projects scheduled this summer and the Dive-X scooters are going to make our expeditions even more exciting!

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Responsible operator that understands photographers needs and at the same time protects the environment.
