Biography of Underwater Photographer Richard Wylie
I'm a marine biologist, lecturer and director of the Euakafa Island Research Centre. I've used a point and shoot Canon D10 - which I loved - for a year and a half snorkelling but a few months ago upgraded to a Canon 550D with Ikelite housing. I stopped counting my dives at about 4000 some time ago.
I have definitely become addicted to underwater photography - not just for the sheer joy of the challenge but also because its such an incredibly effective communication tool to let non divers what its like under the water. Hopefully the more divers that take photos the more conservation outcomes we see!
