Biography of Underwater Photographer Jane A. Morgan

Working as Online Editor of DIVE magazine in the UK, her work is regularly published in DIVE as well as other UK diving press, and in-flight magazines. Jane is also an award-winning committee member of the British Society of Underwater Photographers. She moved to digital photography in 2004 and currently uses a Nikon D70s, but steals her husband's D200 whenever possible. Jane took home the gold for black & white at Antibes 2006. Jane has been diving since 1991 but didn't discover underwater photography until 2000 - and hasn't looked back. In the interim, she spent time working with Coral Cay on conservation projects in both Borneo and the Philippines and trained as an IAHD (International Association of Handicapped Divers) Instructor before finding a home at DIVE Magazine.

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Competence and experience are a must, with excellent local knowledge of the dive sites, currents and conditions. A good sense of humor goes a long way as well as the flexibility and freedom to be able to dive with your camera as your buddy.

I travelled to Komodo recently and had only 20kg baggage allowance with Cathay. I ended up wearing two photographers jackets with multiple pockets and managed to carry all my lenses and batteries on my person. Although your carry on bag can only weigh a certain amount there is currently no limit on how much weight you can carry in your jackets :-)
