Andrei,
I'm guessing that when Alex is using the Nikon 10.5 and 16mm "FE" lenses he has already switched to APS sized sensor, as the only 10.5 and 16mm lenses that I can find in the Nikon range are Dx lenses. He would have this option with the 15mm Sigma lens, which is a full frame lens. The article would have been less confusing to me if Alex had refered to the lenses as Dx or Fx (or DG, which is the Sigma designation for full format lenses).

However, some shots were with a D2x and a D700, so with these the effect of the teleconverter would be...? I presume Alex has edited some shots so as only to show the APS part of the full frame sensor?

There's more going on here than we've been told, but then, I don't think the article was aimed to be an exhaustive teatise. However, I would like a more exhaustive treatment, to include what lenses will focus close enough to do the job described, and what ports fit them.

That said, the article was an eye-opener for me,

Thanks for the work you put into it,

Gerhard.
